Tasmanian pale ale
Farm Ale is a unique pale ale made with barley, wheat, oats and hops from Tasmanian farms. Our flagship session ale is hazy golden, with a smooth bitterness and fruity hop aroma balanced by earthy cereal sweetness.
Farm Ale pairs particularly well with pungent washed rind cheeses, such as our 1792.
Our Metric Trilogy pack contains three bottles of our 2019 Barrel Aged Metric Stout.
2019 Metric Stout is our first ever barrel matured beer; a post-imperial stout aged for 32 weeks in Tasmanian single malt whisky casks. Spirit soaked raisins, oak, and candied peel reveal the presence of whisky absorbed from the casks, while also hinting at the Australian port wine origins of the barrels. Malt-driven dark chocolate, espresso and roasted grain add further complexity and an unbelievably silken texture, with the alcohol content weighing in at a hefty 12.3% by volume.
This beer is elegantly presented in a 750mL corked and caged bottle and is ready to drink now, but will mature gracefully with careful cellaring for many years.
The intensity of this beer calls for pungent cheese. 2019 Metric Stout has been paired with Oen.
Milk stout made with whey
Whey Stout is a roasty milk stout enriched with lactose from our very own organic cow’s milk whey left over after cheese making. Our brewer’s yeast cannot digest the lactose sugar, meaning that it stays behind in the beer and enhances the sweetness and texture.
Whey Stout goes well with Saint.
Dark pale ale
Oxymoron is our signature dark ale – or is it a pale ale disguised as a dark? Does it matter if you drink it with your eyes closed?
Either way, Oxymoron straddles the gulf between pale and dark and is every bit as intriguing as it sounds, with spicy rye notes meeting pungent, fruit-driven hop aromas.
Oxymoron goes well with our harder cheeses, including Tom and George.
Raw wheat IPA
Cloudy Bay IPA is a hazy India Pale Ale (IPA) with deeply Tasmanian roots, made entirely with locally
grown and malted barley, Bruny Island red wheat and Bushy Park hops. Large additions of hops to the
fermenting beer deliver big juicy flavours.
Cloudy Bay IPA goes well with our Raw Milk C2.
Session red ale
Lighthouse Ale is named after the famous Cape Bruny Lighthouse, which has stood on the edge of the wild Southern Ocean since 1838. Chewy, biscuity malt flavours are balanced by firm bitterness, while late kettle additions of three Tasmanian aromatic hop varieties – Galaxy, Willamette and Cascade - deliver subtle fruity and floral notes.
Lighthouse Ale goes well with Tom.
Our limited release dark ale ‘Bruny Black’ is an easy drinking companion for winter weather, warm fires and hearty meals.
Pouring a reddish-tinged black, this beer offers ample malt-driven flavours of freshly roasted coffee, toffee, and toast intertwined with citrus, spice, and plum notes from Tasmanian-grown Cascade and Ella hops. A robust bitterness emerges late, lingering along with a drying note of roasted barley, making for a complex, yet superbly quaffable drink.
Honey and oat brett saison
Our second anniversary ale was brewed in October 2017 and released in March 2018. Local honey, organic oats, fermentation with saison and brettanomyces yeasts, and extended bottle maturation have created a beer of unique complexity. Floral notes from the honey mingle with funky brett flavours, while the oats soften the beer's dryness with a silken texture.
Second Breakfast is presented in a corked, 750mL bottle. Overindulgence may lead to adventures and hairy feet.
Second Breakfast goes well with Oen.

‘The Long Paddock’ uses barley, wheat, oats and hops grown on Tasmanian farms, and is fermented with a Belgian saison yeast. It pours golden with a large white head of foam, and the high carbonation helps accentuates aromas of honeyed pear, citrus, cedar and clove. Sweet cereal notes mingle with fruit and spice flavours, with a moderate bitterness against a very dry finish.
The Long Paddock is sublime enjoyed alongside Otto, our fresh, prosciutto-wrapped cow's milk cheese, baked and served hot with fresh crusty bread.
New world lager
Last Ferry Lager is a strong, malt-driven new world lager made with all-Tasmanian malted barley and hops. It underwent a cool open fermentation with a traditional German lager yeast. Modest dry hopping with Galaxy during lagering has contributed subtle orange blossom, rockmelon and passionfruit aromas without overwhelming the biscuity malt flavours.
We recommend Last Ferry Lager with George.
Barrel aged post-imperial stout

Dark rye saison
Rye Smile is a dark saison brewed with a large amount of malted rye. Aromatics from the Belgian yeast accentuate spicy notes from the rye, while a restrained roasted character lingers in a dry finish.
We recommend Rye Smile with George.
Honey Pale Ale is made in collaboration with Bruny Island’s only pub, the inimitable Hotel Bruny at Alonnah.
Honey Pale Ale features 100 per cent Tasmanian grown and malted barley, as well as raw barley and wheat grown just up the road from the brewery on Bruny Island. Bruny Island seasonal honey lends the beer a delicate, floral aroma and a dry, crisp finish. Tasmanian grown Galaxy and Cascade hops deliver big fruity flavours with only a touch of bitterness.
It’s a great beer for summer drinking, but you’ll have to visit Bruny to enjoy the recommended pairing with this one – Hotel Bruny’s classic chicken parma.
